Hatch an egg
Open Ranch → Eggs/Hatchery and inspect the egg’s family and offer before hatching.

Choose Bring Along
Open My Pets, inspect the profile, then set your active companion. Recheck the slot after a swap.

Use XP and feeding carefully
An equipped pet gains XP from victories. The Feed preview shows which items are consumed and the expected XP.

Review fusion before confirming
The cited guide requires matching family and rarity. One pet improves while the donor is consumed. Check Ranch eligibility, Knowledge cost and the recipient.
Choose a companion by its active skills
Look for the role your hero lacks: damage, recovery or protection. A locked skill should not be part of the current combat plan. Pet attacks can miss, so keep a recovery option available instead of assuming the companion will finish a target.
